MANSEHRA: The people of Dodial and adjoining areas have threatened to block Karakoram Highway if the Peshawar Electric Supply Company continued suspending power supply for entire days. “The domestic and commercial consumers are fed up with prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding as the Peshawar Electric Supply Company authorities are carrying out loadshedding on the pretext of tree branches’ trimming. We will block the Karakoram Highway for an indefinite period if the issue is not resolved,” said Riaz Khan advocate as he spoke to reporters on Friday. A group of people from Dodial and its adjoining areas, led by Riaz, stated that Pesco had been suspending electricity supply to the area in daytime since Wednesday in the garb of trees’ trimming. He said that in scorching heat, women, children and elderly people couldn’t stay inside their houses without electricity. “We have already taken up the issue with Pesco officials but in vain,” he added.
