DALLAS: The London-based MQM chief Altaf Hussain, who has been declared an absconder by an anti-terrorism court, has said India is a cowardly country and If it had some honour, it would not have allowed the spilling of blood of Mohajirs on Pakistani soil.
He asked his workers to request the UN and Nato to send their troops to Karachi to stop the alleged “excesses” being committed against the Mohajirs.
The MQM leader’s statement was posted on the MQM’s website.
“Ask for Nato and UN forces to be sent to Karachi to ascertain who is responsible for the bloodshed in Karachi,” he said while addressing his party’s 19th workers’ meeting here over the phone from London.
The proceedings of the convention and Altaf’s address were telecast in Pakistan, Britain, Australia, Germany, Belgium, the Far East and many other countries of the world through the MQM Web TV.
He also directed his party workers to write letters to American newspapers and make them aware of the actual situation in Pakistan.
He also demanded a separate province for Mohajirs.
He said whenever the party workers in Pakistan and around the world gave their green signal the MQM would officially demand the creation of a separate province for the Mohajirs.
He said the number ‘19’ held much importance in the history of the MQM.
He said the MQM could not be neutralized even by the entire world community.
The MQM chief said he had been striving for the rights of the oppressed for the last 37 years braving what he called were hundreds of fake charges.
Altaf said he had also been sent to jail thrice but nothing could stop him from fighting for the rights of the poor and the needy.
He said millions of Mohajirs could hold a demonstration in front of the White House and United Nations to register their protest.
Altaf asked the MQM workers to continue their movement for a respectable life for their mothers, sisters and daughters even if they were murdered.
He dismissed the money laundering charges and said all his bank accounts in London had been frozen and asked the party workers to send as muchdonation as they could.
Terrorism is the biggest threat to Pakistan, he said and added that the organizations banned by the Interior Ministry were still operating in the country.
He sought Almighty Allah’s help and congratulated the Central Organizer of MQM America Junaid Fahmi, the Central Organising Committee and the members of all MQM chapters in the American states for making the annual convention a complete success.
