The Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Atadjan Movlamov, visited National Book Foundation (NBF) and had a meeting with NBF Managing Director Prof. Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid, says a press release.
In the meeting it was principally decided that National Book Foundation would participate in the 10th International Book Exposition-Fair and Scientific Conference title ‘Book-Way of Collaboration and Progress’, organised by Turkmen State Publishing Service and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The NBF MD briefed the ambassador on progress of Makhtumkhuli Corner which is being established at NBF. He said that to honour the Great Turkmen poet and to construct deep rooted and lasting relationship between Pakistan and Turkmenistan, NBF was building Makhtumkhuli Corner. He further added that the Foundation would translate the literary works of Makhtumkhuli for the wider readership in Pakistan.
The ambassador appreciated NBF’s performance to promote book culture through its innovative schemes.
Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid expressed that NBF donates books on various topics to the Islamic countries to strengthen the cultural and brotherly relations. He said that last year books were donated to Turkmenistan and it was widely appreciated by the literary figures of Turkmenistan. Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov also visited the main bookshop of NBF, National Book Museum, Book Park and My Book Shelf and penned down his remarks in the visitors’ book.
