Recently, my mother joined a school in one of the slum areas of Islamabad for her training. She noticed that the condition of the school was miserable. Many girls who come to school belong to lower income households and are unable to carry proper stationary. My mother was surprised to see the language the teachers use to insult these students. The biggest issue, however, is the low quality of education. 10th grade students don’t know even basic terminologies and many failed the math test.
The overall blame for this precarious situation is on teachers who are paying scant attention to the students. The relevant authorities must take immediate notice of this situation and take action to ensure that all schools are providing quality education to students.
