Shahbaz’s release shows a deal: Fawad
RAWALPINDI: The Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif’s release has sent negative vibes showing that it is certainly the result of a deal. He said a deal with Shahbaz Sharif would not be good for the government.
Talking to Geo News programme ‘Jirga’ anchor Saleem Safi on Saturday, the minister said he had opposed the decision of giving the PAC chairman's slot to Shahbaz but Assad Qaisar showed his large-heartedness for improving the environment of the House. On the question of deal, he said they have stopped it so far and tried hard to see justice being meted out. He said the Sharif family is getting relief from courts. “We have no influence over the courts and NAB but the finger is pointed at us. We will challenge Shahbaz Sharif’s release in the Supreme Court,” he said.
He said vehicles have not been hired for the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, as the Saudi delegation itself is bringing them. He said it is a matter of common sense from where 300 Prados could be taken on rent in Islamabad. He said an amount of Rs3.5 billion was incurred annually on the vehicles which were auctioned off by the prime minister. He said the budget of Prime Minister’s House has been reduced from Rs5.1 billion to Rs3.1 billion.
