LAHORE: Partly cloudy weather with scattered rain was observed in the city here Friday while Met office predicted dry and cold weather for the next 24 hours.
Met officials said that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Very cold weather is expected in northern Balochistan and northern parts of the country. On Friday, rain with snowfall over the hills occurred at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal Divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Peshawar Division and Gilgit-Baltistan. Weather remained cold and dry in other parts of the country.
Rainfall was recorded at several cities, including Mirkhani 37mm, Balakot 23mm, Dir (Upper 20mm, Lower 17mm), Pattan 18mm, Malam Jabba, Kakul 17mm, Drosh, Besham, Buner 16mm, Saidu Sharif 14mm, Chitral 12mm, Kalam 10mm, Cherat 08mm, Risalpur 07mm, Mohmand Dam 04mm, Parachinar 03mm, Peshawar, Warsak Dam 02mm, Kohat 01mm, Narowal 26mm, Lahore (A/P 24mm, City 21mm), Gujranwala 20mm, Sialkot (A/P 19mm, Cantt 16mm), Murree, Gujrat 16mm. Friday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Bagrote, Kalat and Ziarat where mercury dropped down to -06°C while in Lahore, it was 7.9°C and maximum was 17°C.
