PARC suggests 12 new rice hybrids

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC)’s Variety Evaluation Committee (VEC) on Rice on Thursday recommended 12 new rice hybrids and one open pollinated variety for commercial cultivation across the country to promote crop output.
The meeting was held at PARC, where its national coordinator (rice) presented the working paper for all the 26 proposals of rice hybrids and varieties for recommendation to the Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department (FSCRD).
The meeting was attended by technical members from National Agriculture Research Centre, FSCRD director general, Ministry of National Food Security commissioner, Seed Association of Pakistan chairman, and representatives of seed companies.
