20 Afghan nationals among 75 arrested in Kohat
KOHAT: The police on Friday claimed to have apprehended 75 suspected persons, including 20 Afghan nationals, in search operations in parts of the district, an official said.District Police Officer (DPO) Abbas Majeed Marwat told reporters that the police conducted search operations in Jangalkhel village, Jharma, Dhodha, camps for Afghan refugees, surrounding localities of district jail and various educational institutions and made the arrests.The officer said the police also recovered three Kalashnikovs, two rifles, seven pistols, hundreds of cartridges and 750 grams of hashish during the search operations.He said that some of the seized weapons had been buried in a house.The DPO said that police, personnel of Elite force, female cops, bomb disposal squad and intelligence agencies took part in the operations, adding sniffer dogs were also used in the action.
