Hockey clubs to hold polls
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Hockey Federation’s executive board has decided to hold elections of clubs at district level within the next three months.
The PHF executive board met here on Thursday.“The scrutiny and elections of hockey clubs will be conducted. Dates will be announced shortly,” a PHF official said. He said it was also decided that an inter-club championship at the district level would be staged by April 30 under the respective provincial hockey associations.
PHF President Brigadier (r) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar explained the reasons for removing Khalid Bashir as associate secretary.He said Khalid was removed for continuously violating the code of conduct of the PHF and issuing statements against the policies of the federation. “His removal was initiated on disciplinary grounds with a heavy heart,” he said. The executive board unanimously endorsed the decision.
