Chief of six-member gang supplying drugs to Clifton and Defence areas arrested

Karachi: Darakhshan police officials have arrested the chief of a six-member gang supplying drugs to the upscale localities of Defence and Clifton. They have also detained a member of the group.

South Zone police said on Saturday that the District South SSP had directed the Darakhshan police to bust the gang involved in supplying drugs to youngsters in the Defence and Clifton areas.

Following the orders, a team of Darakhshan police officials conducted a raid at Khayaban-e-Mujahid in DHA Phase-V and arrested the chief of a six-member group as well as a member of the gang.

The News learnt that the raiding police team also seized 6,500 kilograms of hashish, a large quantity of a drug known as Ice and a motorcycle bearing registration number KFG-5422 from the suspects. The suspects were identified as Rahim Shamsuddin, alias Mama, and Muhammad Ibrahim.

According to the police, the suspects had told the law enforcers during their interrogation that their gang comprised six members and it was headed by Shamsuddin. The suspects also told the police that they purchased hashish and Ice from Quetta and Lyari to supply the narcotics to the entire city, particularly the Defence and Clifton localities.

They further told the police that they provided the facility of home delivery of the two drugs. They also shared the details of their customers with their interrogators.
