KARACHI: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) patron Dilawar Abbas has announced that the ITF Pakistan Juniors were returning to the country after nine years.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has allocated one ITF Under-18 Tournament to the PTF, which will be held under the auspicious of Islamabad Tennis Association from February 19 to 24.
The qualifying round sign-in date for Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan Junior is February 16 and the main draw sing-in date is 18th.This is an International Ranking Point Tournament which is attracting international players.
“A number of entries of boys and girls have been received from the UK, the US, Thailand, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Greece, Canada and Turkey. While this promises an awesome level of tennis for our players and spectators, it is to be seen how our best will feature against the world’s top players at home,” said Tournament Director Khalil Chughtai.
The main draw in event is for 32 players in singles, and 16 pairs in doubles, while the qualifying round for singles is also for 32 players. Arif Qureshi, an ITF White Badge official, has been nominated as the Referee of the Championships.
