LAHORE: Dr Dildar Chaudhary of Defence Raya and Dr Zafar Nasrullah of Lahore Gymkhana grabbed a share of the lead at the end of the first 18 holes of the 36-hole Quaid-e-Azam Amateur Golf Championship here at the Lahore Gymkhana on Saturday.
Dildar and Zafar posted a net round of 68. Dildar had an astounding control over his swing. At no stage was he awed by the presence of many established golfers. Equally impressive was the performance of Zafar.
There were quite a few others who also put on a steady show and are in a position to challenge the leaders in the final round on Sunday (today).
In the race for gross honours, Ghazanfar Mehmood was bracketed with Wazir Ali after both posted a gross score of 72. Mohammed Rehman of Royal Palm stood one stroke behind at 73.
