Danish wants to start international career anew
KARACHI: Danish Atlas Khan is back from the United States and wants to play competitive squash once again.“I am all available for Pakistan. I want to start competitive squash at international level once again and am ready to represent Pakistan,” said Danish while talking to ‘The News’.
He requested the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) to consider him for international competitions. “I request to the President of PSF and other officials to consider me for international events,” said Danish.
He added that his immediate concern is to get selected for Asian Team Championships and Commonwealth Games. The trials for both the competitions are scheduled on February 12.“I want to appear at the trials. I hope that I will get selected for the competitions if I am called for the trials,” said Danish.
He added that he still had much squash left in him and could easily beat all the current top players of the country. Danish’s current ranking is 335 and the last event he played was $50,000 Pakistan Open where he reached the qualifying finals.
He played Madison Open in April last year where he reached the first round. These were the only events he played in 2017. Danish played 89 events and 240 matches from 2004 to 2016. Danish’s highest world ranking was 65 in June 2014.
