* Failing to stretch muscles before exercise.
* Exercising muscles that are over-fatigued.
* Exercising in hot weather.
* Exercising when you are dehydrated or lack electrolytes.
* Overexerting yourself during exercise.
* Being overweight, being sick or taking certain medications, being older.
