AIOU to hold national conference on media

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will hold a first-ever two-day National Conference on Media on December 22-23 to develop press-academia partnership to promote education in the country, says a press release.
The theme of the conference will be ‘Post-Modern Times: Challenges & Prospects’. Eminent media professionals will be invited to attend the event. According to the chairman, the University’s Department of Mass Communication Dr. Saqib Riaz, the conference is being arranged on the initiative of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui who wishes to develop academic-media linkages to serve the society through educational pursuits.
This is also part of the series of events, being arranged during the last three years to develop media-academia interaction for addressing the socio-economic issues, being faced by the society. The Vice Chancellor has laid special emphasis on developing interaction and collaborative partnership among the national and international institutions for achieving stipulated targets in the educational sector. The main goal of the conference is to provide a platform to bring together researchers, academics, policy makers, civil society representatives, and other experts of Media Sciences from all parts of the country.
