Questions Saleem Safi asked from Ehsanullah Ehsan

KARACHI: This was also said that after the interview of Ehsanullah Ehsan he would have come across as a hero. Keeping in view the ban of Pemra and respect of law, I cannot show Ehsanullah Ehsan’s answers. But you must examine my questions and judge if these questions would have made Ehsanullah Ehsan a hero or a criminal.

When and how did you start following this path and in which year did it all start?

Where did you obtain your initial education from and did you have any affiliation with religious or jihadi organisations before that?

Which college did you attend?

When you joined that time, your relation was with Abdul Wali initially; the Taliban of Mohmand Agency were rich from the beginning?

What was the core reason of separation between Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan?

Rana Fazlullah became an Ameer through a draw and when did you all leave North Waziristan?

When you used to go to Mazar Sharif you had to cross Kabul, how come the Afghan government or intelligence wasn’t aware of it or were they involved in taking you forward? It is difficult to believe that a person like you who is widely familiar by his face wasn’t identified by the Afghan government.

When did you go to the Mazar Sharif the first time?

Why did you go there? Was your home in Mazar Sharif?

Is Omar Khalid Khorasani also living in Nangarhar, Lalpora or different cities of Afghanistan?

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar’s Ameer keeps going to Kabul. Does he have a home in Kabul too?

When did you meet him the last time? It means Omar Khalid Khorasani also used to come to Khost when you were visiting Mazar Sharif or he had a home in Kabul. When you all were visiting each other that’s okay. India was also protecting you or or you had some sort of coordination with their government? Americans are also present there. American drones are also there. Americans were also on board in this issue or they were not aware of this?

Were you not afraid of American drones? Some time ago there were news of being injured? Were they true?

Was Omar Khalid Khorasani really sent to India for treatment? When did this happen? It means it was between 2015 and 2016. The Ameer of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar went to India for treatment.

Where is Maulana Fazlullah and how were the relations between your group and Maulana Fazlullah group? We had received weird news that your Jamaat-ul-Ahrar had collaborated with Da’esh. Is it true? Who holds that foundation after Hafiz Saeed now?

I had also received a news in the past that RAW had called upon the high position holders of the TTP and Baloch separatists in order to create a structure between the two and have some coordination. Are such things in process or being attempted?

Is it also a part of the agenda of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and TTP to make CPEC unsuccessful? Is it the motive of RAW to create sectarian problems in Pakistan?

In the recent past, after the issues in Lahore, Pakistani Army had attacked there on which the Afghan government had also strongly protested. It was generally believed here that your camps were also attacked there. However, the Afghan government says just the opposite. Is it true that your camps were targeted there?

Members have significantly reduced. Are money and arms also reduced? The money that was or is provided by RAW, is it still being provided? Do they give it directly or through the Indians?

One, you get general money and arms and number two, you get these things based on target to target and blast to blast.

Big dangerous activities are being planned in a big country like Pakistan. Do Indians or RAW plan these dangerous plans for you or the TTP or Jamaat-ul-Ahrar plan these activities and then get approval from RAW?  Only some members are aware that India and RAW support them or this is a conspiracy or not. The members at lower level were aware and knew that this power was being used.

The different dangerous activities being planned by the TTP and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar were broken down by the set of operations. This network was broken. Now only such people like this are left. Now who is doing the work of extortion money collection?

In North Waziristan as well, your media set-up is quite big. And there are a lot of TV channels in your office and in Nangarhar also. Where do you get these latest technological advancements from? Even on social media, you had several accounts and various other people. Was NDS facilitating you on this or not? You also say that these people are not religious so how were they able to agree on blowing themselves up? Was it on the basis of religion or how were you preparing them?

Saleem Safi questioned: “When was the first incident when you realised that the work you are doing is not correct and is purely wrong? After the incident of Malala Yousufzai, I had given some comments. On which you had called me and you were angry and shocked. You said, “Your mother will pray for a girl like this.” You had accepted the blame of attacking Malala Yousufzai. What were your feelings at that time? Or your own conscience was saying whatever happened was wrong?

What was the situation after attacking the Army Public School? When you were informed of it? What were your feelings?

When did you take this decision to hand yourself over to the government of Pakistan and Pakistan Army? Do you think there are more people like you over here who want to leave this way or movement and are not able to find any way out? Asad Mansoor of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has claimed that you haven’t handed yourself over to the government but the Pakistani security forces had arrested you.

What have you observed from the strategy of Pakistani enemies? They want to exploit the platform of propaganda or politics? Or they want to defend the security agencies? The people like you who are still in Afghanistan and Pakistan and walking on the path that you travelled on what do you want to tell them?

Saleem Safi said: “Ehsan there is bitterness in each battleground. But in this battle there is a lot of pain and bitterness and they are all really deeply-rooted. Thousands of mothers have cried by lifting the corpses of their children. Thousands of sisters and relatives have lost their young brothers and loved ones respectively. This battle has destroyed culture, economy, schools and roads. You must have threatened people like me as well. Must have put them into trouble. How will you apologise for these heinous crimes from the Pakistani people?"

In the end of the show, Saleem Safi said that it was a reality that politics, journalism and diplomacy are the grey area issues. He said: “There is no black and white situation in these issues. Here everyone has to defend their own personal good, be it the government, federal institutions or media. Basic loyalty is only directed towards Pakistan and the things which are good for Pakistan. Few things in some situations can be in favour of Pakistan, while in other situations can go against Pakistan. If terrorists could have been happy from Ehsanullah Ehsan’s interview earlier, now they can be harmed from his interview. Therefore, in the supervision of army fighting with the Taliban, it was deemed appropriate to release his videos and call me to interview Ehsanullah Ehsan.

On the other hand, I would only say this to the newspapers and electronic channels running a campaign against me that I can answer all their questions but I am actually enjoying their propaganda. Because this is the saying of my beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH) that "punishment is enough for the people who are jealous as such people burn in the fire of their own jealously.”
