Silencing the victim
Mashal Khan’s murder is not the first one. It has become quite easy for the people to kill in the name of religion and then roam free. The unfortunate thing is that the killers of Mashal do not have any regret. Almost the entire nation condemned the incident.
It seems that the incident is not limited to Mashal. On Friday (Apr 21), a mob tried to kill a mentally challenged man over the alleged blasphemy. These incidents show that anyone can get up and kill somebody according to their will. Every matter should be brought to courts. The accused should be given an opportunity of being heard. A civilised nation is one which deals with a matter in a just manner. Mob justice is not a trait of a civilised society. It is high time we did something to curb the growing intolerance in the country.
