Politics of chaos won’t succeed: Punjab CM

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said neither the politics of chaos and anarchy succeeded earlier, nor would succeed in future.

He stated this while talking to Member National Assembly Najaf Abbas Sial and former member provincial assembly Qaisar Amin Butt who called on the chief minister, here Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that selfless service to the people was agenda of Pakistan Muslim League-N government and this journey of public service was being forwarded as a mission.

Shahbaz Sharif said that projects of the PML-N government were unprecedented with regard to transparency and it was first time in the history of the country that national resources of billions of rupees had been saved in the projects.

The chief minister said that he would continue selfless service to the people throughout his life. He said neither the politics of chaos and anarchy succeeded earlier, nor would succeed in future. He said that the people who wanted to create hurdles in the journey of progress and prosperity of the nation had become isolated politically. People of Pakistan want only development, prosperity and peace, he added. Shahbaz Sharif said the country had been put on the road to progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif which would be further forwarded speedily.          SAAF PANI PROGRAMME

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting here Monday which reviewed different matters regarding implementation of Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme and took various important decisions for its implementation in future.

The chief minister said that future strategy had been evolved for speedy implementation of Saaf Pani Project and now we have to jointly implement this project speedily. He said the programme of provision of clean drinking water would be started in 37 tehsils of South Punjab in the first phase and its scope would be expanded across the province in phases while non-functional water schemes would also be restored. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that work was being carried out in right direction for implementation of programme of provision of potable water.

He directed Saaf Pani Company to select best human resource on merit for its capacity-building and added that viable recommendations should be presented for the restoration of non-functional rural water schemes. He said that provision of clean drinking water to people was the responsibility of the government which would be fulfilled at any cost. He said clean drinking water project will have to be completed in the fixed period at all costs and move speedily towards achieving the goal. Chief Executive Officer Saaf Pani Company South gave a briefing regarding different models and implementation of the programme.
