Art exhibition opens tomorrow

Renowned Artist and art Teacher Asad Faruki and six of his students' exhibition of recent works is being inaugurated at Nairang Art Gallery, on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 5:30PM. Lahore Arts Council Chairman Kamran Lashari will inaugurate this brilliant display of young artists and their teacher.

Asad Faruki is a renowned figure in the world of art and also a very dedicated teacher. His students' works have a striking resemblance with the work of their teacher, Asad Faruki. The paintings on display give the viewers a feeling of colourful horizon which has a symbolic meaning only to be felt by an art lover and a sensitive soul. The exhibition will remain open till January 10, 2017.

NCA students degree show: The Zahoorul Akhlaq Gallery at National College of Arts, Lahore inaugurated the 16th degree show of its students enrolled in the MA (Hons.) Visual Art Programme. Principal NCA Professor Dr Murtaza Jafri, who is also the Director of the MA (Hons.), Visual Art Programme, was the chief guest on the occasion. Eighteen students, including Kanwal Tariq, Javeria Khan, Madeeha Iqbal, Maria Jamali, Sehrish Rafique, Zahid Soomro, Rida Zainab, Aqeela Sherazi, Sidra Saleem, Adnan Mairaj, Noor-ul-Ain, Rida Fatima, Maryam Saleem, Farhan Rasool, Syrah Ali, Nida Alina, Hadia Moiz and Babar Gull exhibited their work.  It was after a rigorous process, where a panel of qualified and experienced art practitioners from renowned art institutions reviewed students work. Showcasing a broad spectrum of interests and concerns, students of the MA (Hons.) Visual Art Programme had sought to explore varied possibilities in terms of form, content and material. The show will continue till 5th of January 2017. Professor Dr Murtaza Jafri said this is an opportunity that comes only once a year as students and the public at large are invited to view the unique creative output conceived, developed and produced over the course of the two-year programme.
