ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on Tuesday said ‘Sherwani’, and not PanamaLeaks, is the real problem of the PTI Chairman Imran Khan. The PML-N leaders expressed these views while talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court after hearing in the case.
Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb suggested Imran Khan to change its legal team again as this team also failed to provide evidence and to show involvement of the prime minister in Panama Papers scandal in the apex court. She said Imran Khan is lying to the nation on PanamaLeaks case. “Where are those proofs which the PTIchairman was showing on television channels and was demanding resignation from the prime minister,” she asked.
Marriyum said Imran is just wasting time of the Supreme Court, general public and the media, as he don’t have a single evidence to provide in the court. “From the day first, honourable judges are asking from the PTI that where are the proofs and they have nothing to show in the court,” she added.
The minister said that in next hearing a new lawyer of Imran Khan will appear with new allegations on the prime minister. She advised Iman to go back to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and serve its people instead of wasting time here as their voters are waiting for development work. “If Imran is not ready to deliver in KP then the federal government will have to complete development projects there, as we can’t let its people alone,” she added.
Marriyum said t Imran always said that when he will come in power he will bring change. She said Imran must know that he is already in power in KP and is part of the Federation. To a question will Qatri prince appear in the court to support the prime minister, Marriyum said the government has all the evidence and will provide it in the court when needed.
While giving message to the nation, the minister said people should listen and support the truth. She said Imran should reconsider his case which is based on baseless allegations and take this case back from the Supreme Court and start serving the people.
The PML-N leader Abid Sher Ali said the PTI failed to provide evidence in the court because this petition is based on baseless allegations. “We have evidence that Maryam Safdar and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are not lying with the nation and we will prove that,” he added.
He said the government wants quick decision of this case, as the prime minister and his family are not guilty. Agencies add: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Sharif family would get a clean chit in Panama Papers case in the Supreme Court as the PTI had failed to provide any evidence.
He said the PTI’s politics was based on lies and the PM would emerge victorious in Panama Papers case. He said the PTI is repeating the same baseless allegations as it could not prove their stance. The minister claimed that the court repeatedly warned the PTI lawyer not to discuss irrelevant things and told him not to indulge in politics.
“The PTI lawyer had lost his senses because his case was based on ill intentions,” he said. He alleged that Imran Khan was a liar as he had told lies about his children, flat and offshore companies.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said Imran Khan was giving the impression that judges agreed to the evidence provided by his lawyers in the apex court.
She said Imran Khan repeatedly said that evidence on Panama Papers was provided to the court, however legally the proofs given to the judges were not considered more than rubbish. She said newspaper clippings and a book could not attain the status of primary evidence.
Anusha said Imran Khan did not learn from history as his claim of rigging in elections was also rejected by the Judicial Commission. The minister said contrary to claims of the PTI leadership, there was no contradiction in the statements of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
MNA Talal Chaudhry said four allegations were levelled against the Sharif family, which provided all the evidence to nullify the accusations. He said the PTI not only changed the lawyer but also changed its allegations and position and its arguments were reduced to finding contradictions in the statements of prime minister. He said Imran Khan did not have the evidence, his call for lockdown failed in November and he had become a political orphan.
He said Imran Khan tried to make the mandate of Nawaz Sharif controversial when he could not compete with him politically. Minister for Railways Saad Rafique said Imran Khan is distorting the observations of the Supreme Court in Panama case. He said the apex court should take notice of the statements of Imran Khan. He said the PTI is misleading the nation.
