COAS asks troops to give befitting response to Indian aggression
Visits forward locations on Line of Control
RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Friday asked the troops deployed on the Line of Control (LoC) to give a befitting response to the Indian aggression. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief spent his day visiting the Headquarters 10 Corps, Rawalpindi, and troops on forward locations on the LoC.
General Bajwa was briefed in detail about the prevailing security situation at the LoC in view of the recent violations and escalation by Indian troops and own response. Appreciating the troops for their operational readiness and befitting response given to unprovoked Indian firing in violation of the ceasefire agreement, the COAS directed them to keep the highest level of vigil at all times.
The army chief said each violation of any kind must be responded to with full force in the most effective manner. The COAS said the aggressive Indian posture solely aimed to divert attention of the world from atrocities being committed by their troops in the Indian Held Kashmir.
General Bajwa said the core issue of Kashmir will have to be resolved between the two countries in line with the UN resolutions and aspirations of the people of Kashmir for lasting peace in the region. Lt Gen Malik Zafar Iqbal, Commander of 10 Corps, received the COAS at the Corps Headquarters and later accompanied him during his visit to the LoC.
