The Sindh Health Department on Thursday gave long due
promotions to at least 83 female medical officers of BPS-17 by awarding them BPS-18 grade.
According to a notification issued by Secretary Health, Usman Chachar, the doctors who are currently serving at various hospitals and health facilities in
the province were promoted on recommendations of Departmental Promotion Committee and consent from the office of Sindh Chief Secretary.
Chachar said that this step was indeed a promising one and has set ground for similar measures for health officials who have been waiting for their promotions to see light of the day.
He further pointed out that the list of senior officials was full of discrepancies but the respective authorities would soon rectify them so that deserving individuals would be promoted to next grades.
He assured that all employees of the health department including doctors, drug inspectors, those i the special cadres, nurses, paramedical staff as well as those serving special cadre would be promoted as per their seniority and competence.
