He is a keen sportsman as he was the coach of Pakistan Universities Youth Basketball Team 1984. Earlier he had National Colour in Basketball in 1982. He was President, Students Union, Punjab University Law College, Lahore, in 1981-82. He had Punjab University Colour in Basketball, Cricket and Hockey in 1979-82.
