Murad orders acquisition of land for M-6 by August 7
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, while presiding over a meeting on Thursday to review progress and challenges in the M-6 Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway project, noted that litigation had contributed to delays in the project and emphasised that all mutations of state and private land required for the M-6 project must be completed by August 7, 2025.
Officials said Shah focused on resolving land acquisition issues and accelerating construction efforts so that work could commence in the upcoming fiscal year. The meeting, which was held at the CM House, was attended by Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, SMBR Baqaiullah Anar, Principal Secretary to CM Agha Wasif, Hyderabad Commissioner Bilawal Memon, Finance Secretary Fayaz Jatoi and others.
According to the briefing by the chief secretary, a total of 7,226.32 acres of land is required for the motorway stretch from Jamshoro to Sukkur, of which 884.04 acres belong to the Sindh government, while 6,342.28 acres are privately owned.

He directed the Hyderabad commissioner to report on the acquisition of 342.15 acres of private and government land and also instructed him to ensure that the land required in Matiari was acquired within two days. Further instructions included the acquisition of land in Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushehro Feroze, Khairpur and Sukkur before the deadline. The CM said he wanted to initiate work on the M-6 motorway promptly in the new fiscal year, underscoring the project's importance for economic development in Sindh.
