Second victim of gas explosion passes away
KOHAT: Javed Iqbal Afridi, the Information Secretary of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Kohat district, has passed away, family sources said on Monday.
Javed Afridi had sustained critical burn injuries in a gas explosion five days ago at the hujra (male guest house) of the late former Senator Abbas Afridi in Azam Bagh.Both Javed Afridi and Abbas Afridi were shifted to the Burn Centre at Combined Military Hospital at Kharian for treatment.
Javed Afridi’s funeral prayers were offered in his native village, Babri Banda, in Kohat.It is worth mentioning here that former senator Abbas Afridi and two other persons were injured in an explosion caused by gas leakage at his residence and the adjacent hujra in Azam Bagh located on Rawalpindi Road here on Thursday.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, Abbas Afridi sustained critical burn injuries in the explosion and caused huge damage to the structure of hujra or male guesthouse.The injured were first rushed to the Combined Military Hospital in Kohat and later referred to a hospital in Peshawar for further medical treatment.
