Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Monem Zafar, along with a delegation, called on the chief executive officer of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) and demanded an adequate water supply for the mega city.
Karachi JI General Secretary Taufiquddin Siddiqui, Opposition Leader in City Council Saifuddin Advocate and several other town chairmen accompanied Zafar during the meeting. The JI city chief said that Karachiites had been facing an acute shortage of water even during the prevailing hot season.
He highlighted the issue of frequent leakages in the main water supply lines and demanded an immediate and effective solution to the problem.The JI leader further said that the prevailing crises would not have occurred if the K4 water supply project, initiated by the late Naimatullah Khan, had been completed on time.
