LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam expressed disappointment over his team’s poor execution with both bat and ball after a crushing defeat against Quetta Gladiators in the 17th match of the 10th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL-10) at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday night.

Peshawar Zalmi, chasing a target of 179, collapsed under pressure, getting bowled out for a mere 114 runs in just 15.2 overs. Zalmi’s pursuit of 179 got off to a disastrous start as the team lost wickets with regular intervals. The Gladiators wrapped up Zalmi’s innings on the second ball of the 16th over, handing them their fourth defeat in six matches and amplifying concerns over the team’s form.

Babar Azam acknowledged the team’s underwhelming performance and emphasized the need for improvement. “I think we weren’t quite up to the mark in both batting and bowling,” he admitted. “We failed to execute our plans as we should have. We’ll sit down, analyze what went wrong, and make sure we don’t repeat the same mistakes moving forward.” As Peshawar Zalmi faces mounting pressure to turn their season around, the team’s inability to deliver in crucial moments has emerged as a key area of concern.
