Islamabad: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the federal government has appointed Nadeem Mahbub as the new secretary of the Federal Education and Professional Training Division.
He replaced Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani, who has been posted as the secretary of the Ministry of the Inter-Provincial Coordination. Wani, a BPS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, served as the education secretary for around 1.5 years.
He was appointed special secretary to the Federal Education and Vocational Training Division in December 2023, after serving as the chief secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan. According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Nadeem Mahbub, a BPS-22 officer of the PAS, has been transferred from his previous role as secretary of the National Health Services and Regulations and Coordination Division to the Federal Education and Vocational Training Division as the secretary. His new assignment took immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.
The notification has been dispatched to all relevant departments, including the Prime Minister’s Office, President’s Secretariat, and Cabinet Division, for information. Parliamentary secretary for federal education Farah Naz presented a bouquet to Mahbub on assuming the charge of the secretary and said she looked forward to his leadership in driving forward impactful reforms and innovation in Pakistan’s education sector.
