SSC examinations get underway in KP

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Faisal Khan Tarakai, visited Government Shaheed Mubeen Shah Afridi Higher Secondary School No 1 Peshawar Cantt to inspect the arrangements as matriculation examinations got underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.

During his visit, he reviewed the examination halls and spoke to media representatives about the province-wide exam preparations.Talking to the media, the minister said that comprehensive arrangements had been made across the province for the smooth conduct of matriculation examinations.

“CCTV cameras have been installed in all examination halls, connected directly to the control rooms of the respective education boards,” he stated.He said that the Education Monitoring Authority, in coordination with district administration and education officials, was monitoring the examination system.

To ensure transparency, examination halls of private schools have been shifted to government facilities.Section 144 was enforced in the vicinity of exam centers to maintain order, and students were being provided with proper furniture, clean drinking water, electricity, and all necessary facilities, he added.

The minister insisted that all chairpersons, secretaries, and controllers of the education boards, along with other staff, had been appointed strictly on merit before the commencement of exams.

He warned that any examination staff found involved in paper leakage, facilitating cheating, or any other malpractice would face strict action, including permanent disqualification from exam duties and other severe penalties.

Tarakai urged the media to play its role in highlighting issues related to examinations, promising swift and appropriate action on any reported problems.

He said that information desks have been established at both the Directorate of Education and the Secretariat level. “Hotlines, WhatsApp numbers, and other contact facilities have been made available to ensure swift resolution of any issues raised,” he said.

CHARSADDA: Like other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the annual matriculation examinations are being conducted successfully in Charsadda.

To ensure transparency and a peaceful environment, the district administration has taken several strict measures.

To guarantee an uninterrupted power supply during exam hours, Wapda officials have been strictly directed to ensure electricity remains available at all examination centers. In a bid to curb cheating, the sale and purchase of exam-related materials such as answer “pockets” has been banned under Section 144.

Additionally, in view of maintaining law and order, a complete ban has been imposed on the display of weapons during the examination period.Officials said that the examinations were being conducted in an organized and peaceful manner, and all departments were working together to ensure a fair process.

MANSEHRA: The district administration in Upper Kohistan strictly monitored the matriculation examinations being conducted in government schools across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.“I have assigned special duties to assistant commissioners and the additional assistant commissioners to visit and monitor matriculation examinations throughout the district,” Upper Kohistan Deputy Commissioner Tariq Ali Khan told reporters.

He said the monitoring teams were deployed on the orders of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary to prevent the use of unfair means during the ongoing exams. “No one is allowed to approach the examination halls as police have been deployed in and around the schools,” Mr Khan said.

He said that, for the first time in 30 years, examination centres had been set up exclusively in public sector educational institutions across the province on the special directives of the KP chief secretary.

Meanwhile, government-constituted special teams also paid surprise visits to examination halls in Mansehra, Torghar, Lower Kohistan, and Kolai-Palas districts.People were strictly prohibited from gathering near schools where examination centres were established in the upper parts of the division.
