LPG prices cut by Rs6.15per kg
Notably, for February prices were been increased by Rs3.68 per kg
ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday slashed Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices by Rs6.15 per kilogram for domestic and commercial consumers for March 2025. These new prices will be effective from today (March 1).
Notably, for last month (February) the prices were been increased by Rs3.68/kg.
According to a notification by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), the price of an 11.8-kg domestic LPG cylinder has dropped to Rs2,924 from Rs2,997 in previous month. Similarly, the price of a 45.4-kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs Rs11,300, down Rs280 from last month.
As compared to previous month Saudi Aramco-CP has decreased by 3.18 percent. The average dollar exchange rate has slightly increased by 0.21 percent resulting to decrease in LPG consumer price by Rs.72.57/11.8 kg cylinder (2.42 percent). The per kg decrease in LPG consumer price is Rs.6.15.
Despite the price cut, LPG is still being sold for over Rs350 per kilogram in several areas, including Islamabad. While Ogra’s notification confirms the new rates, the regulator has faced criticism for failing to enforce them effectively.
