Spiritual scholar Shamsuddin Azeemi passes away
Internationally renowned spiritual scholar and leader of the Azeemia spiritual order, Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi, passed away on Friday.
The spiritual scholar was born in October 1927. He was also the founder and publisher of two famous monthly publications on spirituality, the Roohani Digest and Qalandar Shaoor. He also penned a famous column in Daily Jang with the title ‘Roohani Elaj’.
Azeemi served as a visiting faculty member at the Bahauddin Zakariya University. He also penned several books on the subjects of mysticism, Seerat, meditation and colour therapy. He established meditation centres under the Azeemia Order in 40 cities and in the United Kingdom, United States, Russia and Middle Eastern nations.
One of the books authored by him was included in the curriculum taught at Bahauddin Zakariya University. He has left behind hundreds of thousands of his aggrieved followers. Azeemi’s funeral procession will begin from his home in North Nazimabad Block A at 11 am on Saturday (today). The funeral prayers and burial will take place at the Central Muraqaba Hall in Surjani Town after the Zuhr prayers.
