Chloe Fineman reflects on tough decision to quit 'SNL': 'I've been crying like sweet tears'
Chloe Fineman opens up about her 'bittersweet' decision to Leave 'Saturday Night Live'
Chloe Fineman has opened up about her "bittersweet" decision to leave the long-running sketch show, Saturday Night Live.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at The Dink premiere, the 38-year-old actress said that she's "really proud of everything, but it's hard."
“Seven years is kind of like the classic way [at SNL], and then like right as my contract was up, this amazing David E. Kelley opportunity came in like completely out of the blue. I did a little chemistry read and it was off to the races; it just felt like a perfect time,” Chloe explained.
"I’m really proud of everything, but it’s hard. I’m genuinely really good friends with everybody and I genuinely couldn’t love that job more," she continued. "So it’s really bittersweet, but I’m gonna be in New York. I’m down the street. Maybe you’ll see me.”
The comedian added, "It’s a hard show — it’s because of hours and everything. But like it really is a family, and I’ve been crying like sweet tears.”
On July 16, the comedian announced that she was leaving the late-night show after seven seasons.
“After 7 wonderful seasons at ‘SNL’ I have decided it’s time for my next chapter,” she penned on Instagram at that time. "It’s cliche to say this but working at ‘SNL’ has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t really believe I got to be a part of it.”
“I fell in love with the place the second I walked through the door,” added Chloe.
