KPT handles first commercial shipment of BYD electric vehicles
KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has successfully handled the import of completely built-up (CBU) electric vehicles from Chinese automaker BYD.
The vehicles arrived at KPT’s private terminal, the Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT), KPT announced on Tuesday. This marks the first-ever commercial shipment of BYD electric vehicles in Pakistan, reaffirming KPT’s commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener future. The arrival of these vehicles is expected to bring significant advancements to the local automotive industry and promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. Founded in November 1994, BYD is a global leader in electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The company is renowned for its innovation and technological advancements in EV production.
