13 die in road accidents in 24 hours
LAHORE : Around 13 people died and 1,434 others injured in 1,308 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours. As many as 620 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 814 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the Rescue medical teams.
The analysis showed that 784 drivers, 55 underage drivers, 151 pedestrians, and 512 passengers were among the victims. The statistics showed that 269 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 274 people, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 93 accidents and 112 victims, and at third Gujranwala with 70 accidents and 71 victims.
Two found dead
Two people were found dead in separate incidents here on Wednesday. A 45-year-old unidentified man, believed to be a drug addict, died in a hospital hours after being found unconscious near Data Darbar. In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man was found dead near Railway Gate, Badami Bagh. Police shifted both bodies to the morgue.
