Exchange of expertise for development of digital learning platforms discussed
Islamabad: Visiting Kyrgyz Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva on Monday said her country and Pakistan should exchange expertise on the development of digital learning platforms in order to benefit from the experience of each other.
During a meeting with education minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui here, the Kyrgyz minister also declared university-to-university cooperation and technical institution-to-technical institution collaboration the way forward.
She also highlighted a digital learning platform being used in Kyrgyzstan saying the initiative has reaped good results. Dr Siddiqui welcomed the Kyrgyz delegation and said that the International Conference on Girl’s education had provided the Islamic countries with an opportunity to come closer.
He said that he welcomed enhanced cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan in the field of education. "Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan have cultural, linguistic and people to people love for each other. They should increase exchange of expertise and knowledge regarding vocational and technical training," he said. The minister said both countries could benefit from the experience of each other.
He praised the long standing cordial relation between the two countries. Dr Siddiqui said that there was significant potential in cooperation between the two countries. "Teacher’s training and quality of education have been given the highest priority since I has taken the office. Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan should enhance their bilateral ties especially in exchange of technology, education and research," he said.
The minister said that digitalisation of the education sector could address numerous challenges of today and tomorrow. He highlighted the e-Taleem and Teleschool platforms developed by the Ministry of Education in its bid to develop digital solutions to prevalent problems in the public education sector.
"Pakistan has always collaborated with Muslim countries and looks forward to enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Kyrgyzstan," he said. He appreciated the developments in the education sector of Kyrgyzstan and said that through exchange of expertise Pakistan could learn from their road to progress. The minister called for better collaboration on multilateral platforms such as ECO.
