Data Darbar to be made a state-of-the-art site: minister

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin said that Data Darbar will be developed as a state-of-the-art site as per directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and land adjacent to Data Darbar will be allocated to promote religious tourism and culture.

He said this during his visit to Data Darbar on Friday. The minister reviewed the surroundings of Darbar, traffic flow, encroachments and road remodeling during his visit. DC Lahore Syed Musa Raza and LDA DG Tahir Farooq briefed the minister on development projects in and around Data Darbar.

The minister directed the authorities to ensure the elimination of encroachments, road closures, and illegal parking. He also instructed the LDA to develop a plan for remodeling the metro station and adjacent roads. Bilal ordered the district administration, traffic police, Auqaf Department, and LDA to implement the proposed plans. He emphasised that internal routes will be decorated with Sufi art and this process will be monitored through Safe City cameras, he added. The minister was also accompanied by the Chief Engineer LDA, CO, MCL, traffic police, district administration, Auqaf, and other department officials.
