Law passed to allow advisers’ inclusion in committees
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday passed the KP Laws (Amendment) Bill 2024 to allow advisers and special assistants to be part of various commissions, boards, councils, committees, and subcommittees.
Minister for Law Aftab Alam presented the amendment bill during the session of the KP Assembly.The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Laws (Amendment) Bill 2024 was introduced to expand the participation of advisers and special assistants in government decision-making bodies. Opposition member Adnan Khan proposed amendments to the bill but withdrew them after presenting his stance, as the law minister opposed the changes. Under the newly approved amendment, advisers and special assistants will now be eligible for inclusion in boards, authorities, councils, and committees alongside ministers.
