Traffic movement to be restricted today around Stadium Road during afternoon
Owing to a drill and moving of goods exercise that will take place in the vicinity of the Civic Centre and National Stadium, traffic movement will remain restricted on some of the surrounding roads today (Monday) between 1pm and 4pm in the afternoon.
The Karachi traffic police on Sunday issued a traffic diversion plan to inform the general public about the traffic restrictions that will remain in place between 1pm and 4pm today.
Heavy, commercial and general traffic coming from the airport to the city will not be allowed to go towards Karsaz Road and Stadium. They will take the route from Drigh Road, Rashid Minhas Road and NIPA.
All the traffic coming from the FTC Building on Sharea Faisal will not be allowed to go towards Karsaz and Airport. Such traffic will be diverted to Shaheed Millat Road from Baloch Colony Bridge. From Shaheed-e-Millat Road, they could go to airport using the route of Jail Chowrangi, University Road and Rashid Minhas Road.
No traffic will be allowed from University Road towards Sir Shah Sulaiman Road.
No traffic from University Road would be allowed beyond the Aga Khan Hospital to proceed towards Stadium Road or Karsaz during the above-mentioned hours. Commuters would take the route from University Road to Peoples Chowrangi or Shaheed-e-Millat.
The traffic from Liaquatabad No 10 to Hasan Square Bridge towards Stadium Road will not be allowed during the above mentioned hours. The traffic will be diverted to NIPA and Rashid Minhas Road. The traffic police requested the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and traffic police to avoid trouble.
