ISLAMABAD: The chief commissioner Friday suspended the NOC issued to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for holding a public gathering in the capital due to the security concerns and the sensitive situation during Muharram.
A high-level meeting was held to review the security situation. The political parties and civil societies were invited to attend the meeting but no PTI representative attended the meeting, says the chief commissioner’s office.
The meeting reviewed the applications submitted to the DC office related to holding the rally and reconsidered the permission granted by the deputy commissioner in light of the current security concerns.
The meeting decided to suspend the NOC made to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property, saying the administration was committed to maintaining peace and protecting the citizens’ lives and property in Islamabad.
