LAHORE: The country’s premier swimmers Mohammad Ahmed Durrani and Jehanara Nabi will feature in Paris Olympics on wild card. This was confirmed by a senior official of the Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF) on Monday. Both the swimmers will feature in the 200 metre freestyle competitions in the Olympics whose opening ceremony will be held on July 26 in Paris.
Both swimmers have solid international experience and have done splendid jobs in various events especially in the 200m freestyle. It is expected that both Dubai-based Durrani and Jehanara will pull off their best at the major stage. With this Pakistan’s contingent for the Paris Olympics has also completed. Besides these two swimmers female sprinter Faiqa Riaz will also represent the nation on wild card. Only javelin thrower and the world silver medallist Arshad Nadeem, shooters Kishmala Talat, Ghulam Mustafa Bashir and Joseph Gulfam have qualified directly for the Olympics.
