ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan on Saturday demanded the formation of a commission over the interview given by former spokesperson for Maryam Nawaz and Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair to a private TV channel.
He insisted that an inquiry should be set up on it and immediate notice taken about his statement concerning a meeting between General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and Nawaz Sharif.
Raoof, during a news conference, here noted that the army chief takes oath that he would not interfere in political affairs but Zubair said that Maryam Nawaz had ordered that no one would know about the meetings with General Bajwa.
Zubair, he claimed, had supported Imran Khan’s stance, as promises were made to give important posts to some people. “It was done and our government was toppled. This confessional statement of the former governor of Sindh is a serious matter of violation of the Constitution and this matter of violation cannot be ignored,” he contended.
He demanded the Supreme Court take immediate notice of the interview given by the former Sindh governor to a private television and a commission should be formed. He demanded that those involved in this conspiracy be punished as it was a matter of violation of the Constitution and could not be ignored.
Reacting to the statement of Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan said that a federal minister said that the people wanted the founder chairman to be imprisoned for five years. The Supreme Court should take notice as to why Pakistan’s stability was being made subject to five-year imprisonment of Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, the PTI spokesman called the statement of Irfan Siddiqui on absence of contact between General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa and Nawaz Sharif in seven years ‘a pack of lies’.
