LALAMUSA: A secret recording device has been recovered from a prisoner in Gujrat jail, leading to the suspension of three jail police officials.

The pen-like device was used by the inmate to record instances of alleged torture within the prison. Zaheeruddin, a prisoner, orchestrated the acquisition of the recording device through complicit jail employees. With the help of a fellow inmate, Zaheeruddin recorded a video while handcuffed, allegedly capturing moments of torture on him.

The video was purportedly intended to blackmail the prison officials.

The discovery of the device has prompted a swift response from authorities. DIG Rawalpindi Region was briefed on the incident, suspended three police officers, and initiated an inquiry.

Police have disclosed that Zaheeruddin has a lengthy criminal record, having been imprisoned 33 times in ten different jails across Punjab.
