MULTAN: Eleven members of a family lost their lives in a road accident on the MM Road Mohammadwala near Muzaffargarh on Saturday.
The tragedy unfolded when a passenger van, on its way to Multan from Bhakkar, collided with a truck, resulting in the immediate death of five men, three women and three children.
The family was travelling to visit relatives when the accident occurred. More than 12 additional passengers sustained severe injuries.
The accident apparently took place due to work on the gravel road by the National Highway Authority. Police authorities have commenced an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
The Rescue 1122 Service had only one ambulance on its squad, so the area people through community service shifted the bodies and injured to the Chowk Sarwar Shaheed THQ hospital.
