102 arrested in Islamabad

Islamabad: Islamabad Ca­p­ital Territory Police have arrested 102 suspects from 44 gangs involved in various serious crimes and solved 117 cases.

The spokesman for Islamabad Capital territory Police, stated that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, in a video message, informed that Islamabad Police has taken comprehensive measures against crime in the past month. Under the "No More Drugs" campaign, 338 drug dealers were arrested, and a large quantity of drugs, including hashish, heroin, and over 20 kilograms of ice, was seized. These drug dealers were harming the young generation.

Strict action was also taken against those carrying illegal weapons, resulting in the arrest of 277 suspects and the recovery of a large cache of weapons, including 15 Kalashnikovs. 291 suspects involved in cases of robbery, mugging, and vehicle theft were arrested, and stolen property worth over 160 million rupees was recovered. A vigorous campaign is also being carried out against professional beggars. Islamabad Police officers are working day and night to protect the lives and property of citizens.

The policy of non-registration of crimes has been abolished, and strict adherence to the policy of promptly registering cases on Rescue 15 calls is being ensured. Special measures have also been taken to prevent crimes.
