Minister, HIT officials discuss supply of agri tools to farmers

LAHORE : Supply of agricultural machinery discussed in a meeting between Punjab Agriculture and Livestock Minister Ashiq Hussain with army officials.

In a visit to Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), the minister met with Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila Lieutenant General Shakir Ullah Khattak and Head Land Information Management System (LIMS) Major General Shahid Nazir. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the supply of agricultural machinery to the farmers of Punjab, plans to convert tube wells to solar and other related issues. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Ashiq Hussain said according to the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz the government will fulfill the dream of agricultural development and prosperity in Punjab. Lt-Gen Shakir Ullah Khattak said that Heavy Industries Taxila is the largest manufacturer of related products for defence and civil law enforcement agencies. Maj-Gen Shahid Nazir said LIMS aims to promote modern agriculture in Pakistan and tackle the challenges faced by the agricultural sector. We will provide agricultural loans and credit card facilities to small farmers especially in Punjab, he endorsed. Later, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock arrived at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Islamabad and met the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kistafin. In addition to issues of mutual interest, issues of cooperation in agriculture and livestock sectors were discussed in the meeting.
