LAHORE : Heatwave continued to prevail in the city here on Saturday while Met office warned that it was likely to prevail over the most plain areas of the country during the current week.
Saturday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Dadu and Mohenjo Daro where the mercury reached 50°C while in Lahore it was 42.5°C and minimum was 25°C.
Met officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. A high pressure prevailing in the upper atmosphere and likely to persist during next two to three days while a shallow westerly wave was present over northern parts of the country.
