Retired and forgotten

In our country, an ordinary pensioner can barely make ends meet because he/she cannot obtain any relief unlike the serving employees whose unions can stage protests outside the government offices. The next fiscal year’s budget is in the offing but, as far as I am aware, there is yet to be any news about relief for pensioners being considered by the finance ministry.
The sitting government is expected to provide maximum relief to the inflation-hit segments of society, which includes pensioners. The PM must make an effort to allow for a 10 to 15 per cent increase in pensions in the next budget.
