The real victims
This letter refers to the news reports ‘Nawaz alleges betrayal, says Imran stabbed him in the back’ and ‘PM forms new economic advisory council without Dar, Aurangzeb’ (May 19, 2024). As for the first report, I was amazed at the revelation made by Nawaz Sharif, who presented himself as the most wronged person in Pakistan and accused the PTI chief of betraying him. Naturally enough, he would want to be compensated for this injustice.
I stand corrected for wrongly believing that it was the country and the people that were made to suffer while members of the ruling dynasties became billionaires. The other news was even more interesting. Shehbaz Sharif, who had managed to get millions for his laptop scheme even in times of extreme adversity will likely do even better now. Unfortunately, the country seems to be no one’s concern.
