The budget for the next fiscal year is soon going to be finalized and tabled before the National Assembly. However, pensioners are anxiously waiting to see if the government will raise their pensions by an amount commensurate with the current inflation rate.
It is expected that the federal government will provide maximum relief to the inflation-hit segments of society including pensioners. The prime minister is requested to consider allowing at least a 15 per cent increase in pensions in the upcoming budget.
