Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is reportedly trying to convince Chinese investors to invest in labour intensive industries in Pakistan. China is our time-tested friend and supporter. If it were to grant Pakistan most-favoured-nation or special trade status and purchase just 10 to 20 per cent of its total import value from Pakistan exclusively, that would still mean incoming profits of billions of dollars for our impoverished economy. Maybe such an idea could be floated by our government to their Chinese counterparts?
